Philadelphia2035: THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

PHILADELPHIA CITY PLANNING COMMISSION

Philadelphia2035 is the first comprehensive plan for the City in 50 years. Philadelphia2035 is a three-part process that includes the Citywide Vision (released in June 2011); the subsequent, ongoing 18 District Plans; and zoning revisions to the city zoning plan that follow each District Plan. The comprehensive plan provides a framework for long-term physical development projects over 25 years. Danielle served as project manager for the Philadelphia City Planning Commission (PCPC) in the writing and production of the Citywide Vision. Danielle also created the annual Philadelphia2035 Update that tracks and measures progress toward citywide goals across all planning elements that is still used by PCPC today. Philadelphia2035 set a new standard for the public’s expectations of PCPC’s work going forward.

AWARD: Philadelphia’s Integrated Planning and Zoning Process, of which Philadelphia2035 is a critical part, won a 2013 National Planning Award for Best Practice from the American Planning Association.
